Hobbies: Stopmotion Videos :)

Me and my friend have been making a lot of random videos lately, so I've been getting used to editing videos and stuff. (Our youtube channel: TheHeyItsUs and my own: arandomloisse) On Youtube though, I saw alot of people that posted stop motion videos and I fell in love with that idea. Because of that, I decided to make videos like that. If you don't know what that is, (according to the Merriam-Webster) stop-motion is a "filming technique in which successive positions of objects are photographed to produce the appearance of movement." Basically, it means taking a bunch of photos and putting it all together in a video so that it looks like it's moving.

I am not very good at it yet, but hey, practice makes perfect :D  I still need to make a lot more videos for me to really get used to it, though. After all the editing and putting all the pictures together, I just like seeing the finished product. It is just really cool seeing all the pictures come together to make a video. Stop-motion really just interests me.

Here are some videos that I have made:

A Filipino Teenager in the US: Claudette's Debut

This past Saturday, a close friend of mine had her 18th birthday. In Filipino culture, when a girl turns 18, there is usually a big party held for her, also called a debut. We do this because the girl turning 18 shows how she has become a lady from being a girl--the debut of being a woman. It's like the Filipino equivalent of a Quinceanera, except it happens when she's turning 18, not 15.

Claudette! And yes, the theme was purple.

Me and some of the girls from 18 Candles :)

What we also do during Debuts are 18 Roses, 18 Candles, and 18 Gifts. During 18 Roses, 18 guys that are friends of the girl's, (Claudette) each give her a rose and have a slow dance with her for a couple of minutes. In 18 Candles, 18 girls that are again, friends of Claudette's, each say a little message to Claudette.  (I nervously did it!) My friend even made a video for her, it made her cry. :) Finally, in 18 Gifts, 18 people (No matter what gender) "present" each of their gifts to Claudette. They also need to tell her how each gift represents the debutant in some way. Even though this took quite awhile, it was still very touching to see how many people did all this for her.

If you see this, I hope you had an awesome birthday Claudette! You deserved it. :)

From experiencing all this, I can't wait for my own debut! (Even though it doesn't happen in 5 years) :D

Hobbies: DIYs!

"Flowers" made from spray paint, copy paper and poster board :)
I love, love, love doing "Do-it-yourself" stuff! It's really fun because after you have actually done it, you feel a sense of accomplishment. When I look at something that I have done, I feel so amazed because I actually finished and made it myself. When people ask me about things I make, they are always asking questions on how I did it. I always reply by saying it's actually really easy, but you have to have effort for it to come out awesome.

However, I don't come up with DIY projects just like that, though. I get my "inspiration" from anywhere really. I get it from Youtube, online articles, etc. The sky is the limit. The latest DIY project that I'm working on is redesigning me and my sisters' room. I don't really like to make my mom spend money, so I decided to make the decorations myself. I only asked my mom to buy the materials and I always opt for the cheapest ones. (I know, I'm so cheap XD) My sisters somewhat helped, too. I did most of the work, though. Here's some pictures of what I have done so far, hope you <3 them:

Interests: Shopping

One of my favorite stores
In my "About Me" section for this blog, I said I loved shopping. Even though I love to do that, I am far from a girly girl. I just love dressing up and looking presentable. (Haha :) Ever since I was a kid I've been drawing all kinds of clothes basically anywhere. I still do. Fashion or fashion design itself have always interested me. I like creating outfits and picking out clothes for other people. It's really fun--well for me. I know that what I just wrote just makes me sound exactly how a girly girl is. I am not, but hey, that's just me.

Pictures from random photoshoots that I have with my sisters/friends XD
More stores <3
Even though I shop a lot, I don't waste my money. I mostly shop sales and look for discounts. I thrift shop, too. It's better to do that because I still get awesome clothes and shoes for half the price, sometimes even more. I know, I know, I am cheap. But hey, that's just how I am. I don't want to waste over $20 on a tank top or $100 on a pair of shoes. I could get so much more with that money.

MORE pictures. Haha

Hobbies: Dancing

Messing around after dance practice XD
I love dancing. I don't know why, but I just do. I'm not a professional dancer or anything like that, in fact, I'm an amateur. This does not stop me, though. I just like doing it. Every time I finish a dance routine, I feel good because, I stuck with the dance and finished learning it--no matter how hard it was. Plus, dancing is like exercising, but, a lot more fun because you don't realize you're actually working out. Besides, I need all the exercise I can get.

Whenever I have free time, I dance with my friends. It's a lot more productive and efficient to learn dances with friends because they can give you feedback if you're doing the moves right or not. Also, it's 10x more fun dancing with a friend than dancing alone. In fact, I'm learning a new dance with a close friend of mine right now. :)
